Please note that some of the houses are scarier than others, so if you are taking sensitive eyes with you, we highly recommend going through the list to narrow down your tour to houses that you feel comfortable with.

New to the list for 2022! This family went all out for their first year decorating for Halloween. Lots of details on both sides of the house and in the graveyard. Fun for all ages!

These neighbors team up to make Halloween special! They have a 9 ft dinosaur wedding, 12 ft pumpkin inferno, fog machine and lights to music on 89.9 FM.

Last year, this family-friendly display was invaded by spiders, a glowing giant skeleton, and a serpent in their lawn!

There is a giant window video projection that includes the sewer scene from “It”, a scene from the 2018 remake of “Halloween”, people trying to escape the window, dripping blood, and ghosts. Definitely freaky and not for young children. Their neighbor also does a more family friendly display.

This haunted yard features a mausoleum and a foggy graveyard. They are up and October 1- 31, 2022. Hours are dusk – 10:00pm. Check their Facebook page for more details.

This Halloween display has so many details, you do not want to miss! There are multiple skeleton scenes, monsters, and witches!
2612 River Woods Dr, Naperville, IL 60565
Open September 25, 2022 through November 6, 2022 from dusk to 11:00pm. Yard display containing giant static props, multiple digital projections, graveyard. On weekends they will turn on the fog machine, soundtrack, and projector. Nightmare In Naperville is on Facebook for updates.

This display has graveyards, skeletons on motorcycles, and more. Family friendly display with the hours are 6:30pm – midnight, daily.

Full walk-though experiences from October 28 – 31, 2022, with lots of animated props, actors, scenery and effects. Super scary and not for young children during the walk though.

Colorful lights and witches galore! Family friendly display that keeps growing as the season goes on.
1112 Nicholson St, Joliet, IL 60435 (Count Kuhajda’s Haunted Haus)
Walk through the front and back yard of this haunted house (you will need to get out of your car). Many animated characters, but nothing live to “spook” the younger visitors.
21526 Carlton St, Crest Hill, IL 60403
Look for skeletons everywhere (even on the roof!) and figures in the door and windows in this packed display. Open October 1 – 31, 2022. Weekdays dusk – 9:30pm. Friday – Saturday dusk – 10:30pm. This family-friendly yard display was also featured WGN News in 2020.

Animatronics and fog machines make this display with many figures and scenes even spookier! Visit this one Fridays and Saturdays from dusk to 11pm, Sundays dusk until 10pm, and on Halloween night dusk until 10pm.
1806 Whispering Oaks Ct, Plainfield, IL 60586 (The Infested Oaks)
The most talked about house this year has scenes from Stranger Things, including the body of Max hovering over their driveway. Max will not be levitating when winds are above 12 mph, so we recommend you checking the weather (or checking Instagram) before heading over to this one. You can visit any day of the week, however the lighting and special effects are on Fridays and Saturdays from 5-10pm, Sundays from 4-9pm, and Halloween Monday from 5-9pm. Please pay attention to posted signage and respect the neighbors while enjoying the display.
1702 Whispering Oaks Dr, Plainfield, IL 60586 (Pumpkin Riot Productions)
This family-friendly display is down the street from the Stranger Things display and has great scenes with pumpkins, skeletons, and fog.
306 Meadow Lakes Dr, Shorewood, IL 60404
Enter if you dare! This over the top display brings the cemetery to life with amazing animatronics. Live actors will be there Halloween weekend!
1109 Butterfield Cir W, Shorewood, IL 60404
This haunted graveyard is family themed/oriented so nothing is overly scary for the kids. This house feature skeletons trying to escape their resting place, including the king of all skeletons! The rotten pumpkin king has joined the party this year too and he’s brought along some pumpkin friends to sing and tell jokes. Lights are on every night from dusk to 10:00pm, but projections and spooky music are featured on Friday-Sunday night. Two picture spots are also available; sit in an electric chair or pose at their haunted night background for a photo op.

Lights are on Friday and Saturday from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Guests are welcome to walk to all the different scenes on the homeowners property. They have homemade pneumatic and motor props to view!
