If you are like many others, you like to make resolutions for the New Year. Personally, we like to make a few New Year’s Resolutions together. We believe it helps to maintain a strong relationship. Are you interested in a joint resolution for the New Year? Here are several ideas for New Year’s Resolutions to make with your special someone.

Less Screen Time

We become too involved in our screens too often, and this causes us to miss out on face-to-face company. For the New Year, make it a resolution to put your phones down during meals and movie nights, as well as at least an hour each day. In fact, you should put the phones in a basket to place away from you. This way, you are staying in the present moment with your significant other.

Do More Together

Do not wait until a holiday or special occasion to do something together. One way to keep the spark alive is to have a date night often throughout the year. You can go to dinner, the movies or even bowling. If you love to give back to your community, consider volunteering together. Remember, spending time together is essential for maintaining a healthy relationship.

Be More Honest

It is important to be more honest with your significant other, especially if they say or do something that makes you feel bad. In return, they need to be more honest with you. How can you fix the problem if you let your anger build up instead of talking about it? Remain open-minded when talking about the problem, and work on fixing it together.

We are making it a resolution to spend more time together in our cozy HighPoint Town Square apartment. Feel free to share your New Year’s Resolution in the comments below!
