A lot has changed since Valentine’s Day last year and with that how I might choose to celebrate the people we love in 2021. It’s true that a lot can be said for celebrating Valentine’s Day and showing someone how special they are on that one day when you should be doing it every day. When you love someone you do try to find small ways to make them smile every day but to play devil’s advocate, so to speak, it’s also true that life can get busy and stressful and before you know it, you might not be able to remember the last time you did something special to show you care, just for the sake of it. It’s also important to remember that Valentine’s Day is not only for people in relationships but everyone can celebrate their family or friends and no one is excluded! With that said we would like to share some ways, you can make someone feel special this Valentine’s Day.
Gifts, big or small, as long as it’s thoughtful!
Obviously, you know your loved ones better than we do and have some ideas for gifts that they might really love but we have all experienced a difficult past year, in a variety of different ways, which has caused us to feel some sadness or a sense of loss. The one thing that has personally been at the root of my strength, are the people I love and although it’s been difficult to spend as much time with them as in prior years, there are a few key memories where they brought me joy in 2020. Whether you have a photograph of this moment or simply want to write your recollection of it in a card, it’s a wonderful way to remind someone of how much they mean to you.
Wine and dine
Maybe you and the person you love always talk about that one trip you went on and how delicious the food was. Unfortunately, not all places are as easily accessible as they once were. Thanks to the internet you might be able to find the recipe and if not the exact one, something close enough to spark that special memory. This can also work with any favorite meal you’ve shared, including comfort food. Remember that it’s just about making an effort!
At-home spa day
So the thought of trying to cook something that anywhere near resembles something edible has your stomach in a twist, just remember that that’s what takeout is for and there are other ways to make an effort. With the help of some facial masks, scented candles, Epsom salt, bubble bath, champagne, and a foot rub you can turn your home into a relaxing spa! Your beautiful home here at HighPoint apartments, along with these added adjustments, can help create a space of peace and tranquility which is perfect for spending quality time with the one you love.
Spending quality time virtually
If you are unable to spend time with loved ones in person you can create a virtual date! Set a time to connect virtually and spend some quality time together. Another great idea to help make you feel more connected could be to decide on a dish for everyone to make at their own location and then eat together while talking to each other.
Whether you are cooking a delicious meal in your spacious kitchen or relaxing by the cozy fireplace, we hope you enjoy a wonderful Valentine’s Day with the people you love.
